UAB “Gamma Furniture” is a company in the furniture industry, based in Tauragė, producing furniture and furniture components such as tables and countertops, as well as performing wood processing and veneering work. Observing the changing demands in the wood processing market, the company decided to expand its production by drying its own wood and establishing a new production workshop.
The growing energy consumption, the development of new production technologies and capacities, production growth, and the expansion of product consumers and markets have set goals to optimize energy usage. UAB “Gamma Furniture” plans to install a 100 kW solar power plant under the project “Installation of AEI Production Capacities at UAB ‘Mildrena’ No. 02-011-k-0167.” Upon completion, the company will become a producer-consumer of electricity, contributing to climate change mitigation and supporting the Republic of Lithuania’s goals to become a climate-neutral country.
Funding for the project was provided under the 2022–2030 development program by the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania through the Economic Transformation and Competitiveness Development Program’s progress measure No. 05-001-01-04-02, “Promoting Companies’ Transition to a Climate-Neutral Economy,” activity “Promoting the Use of Renewable Energy Sources in Industrial Enterprises (Central and Western Lithuania Region),” with €55,000.00 allocated from the European Regional Development Fund.
